Rainier Counseling's Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS):
We offer the Alcohol and Drug Information School as an educational program
that presents information about the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs. Our
goal is to help students who do not currently present with significant
alcohol or drug problems make informed decisions about the use of alcohol or
drugs.
The Alcohol and Drug Information School is designed to help individuals to
make responsible decisions about the use of alcohol and drugs - particularly
as they relate to driving. It seeks to provide factual information about
the effects of alcohol and drugs on the body and about what constitutes use
and abuse to enable the student to gain a knowledge base for personal
decision-making.
Furthermore, because alcohol and drug use does not exist in a vacuum, ADIS
also seeks to help the student to understand how their alcohol and drug use
impacts other areas of their lives. ADIS helps the student to become more aware of
the impact of their personal decisions on others and the community at large.
ADIS, at Rainier Counseling:
- Does not assume that students are alcoholics or drug addicts
- Is not therapy.
