Rainier Counseling's State Certified Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Recovery
Treatment Programs:
We offer 4 distinct treatment program options for drug and/or
alcohol-related problems. Each of these programs provide topical
psycho-educational learning experiences, counseling and support within the
context of individualized treatment plans.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (1 - 2 year program):
These programs are designed to meet the needs of clients who have
significant chemical dependency problems. Clients referred by the Department
of Licensing are required to complete a program of up to 2 years in length
(depending on the attainment of treatment goals) while Deferred Prosecution
clients are required to complete the entire 2-year program. This program is
also appropriate for clients who have successfully completed an inpatient
chemical dependency program however, other clients may enroll in the 1-year
program but their completion dates will vary depending upon progress toward
treatment goals.
- Relapse Prevention Programs
These programs are appropriate for clients who have a significant chemical
dependency problem and who have relapsed while enrolled in another
outpatient treatment program or subsequent to having completed a treatment
program. These programs are differentiated from the intensive outpatient
programs by fewer psycho-educational sessions, fewer individual counseling
sessions and by their focus on relapse prevention issues.
- Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Program
In recognition that up to 70% of chemical dependency problems also involve
other mental disorders, this program provides treatment that address both
disorders simultaneously. This program is designed to help eliminate
psychiatric symptomatology while focusing on the recovery from alcohol and
drug problems.
- 6-8 Month Alcohol/Substance Abuse (Abuser) Program
This program is designed for individuals who are experiencing problems with
drugs and/or alcohol but who do not meet the diagnostic criteria for
chemical dependency. Education, group and individual counseling, and support
are provided to reinforce wise choices and to prevent future problems with
the use of alcohol and/or drugs.
Note: We are careful to include in our treatment programs a measure of
flexibility that permits us to tailor make each client's treatment program
to fit their particular and unique needs.
Philosophy About Alcoholism and Addiction:
- Alcoholism and other drug addiction are primary, diagnosable, and treatable diseases for which abstinence is the foundation for recovery.
- A person with alcoholism or other drug addiction can never return to the
use of alcohol or other mood-altering chemicals without adverse effects.
- A return to drinking or drug use during recovery is viewed as a sign of
relapse and is not an indication of failure of the individual or program.
- Every effort should be made to include the family and significant others in
the treatment process
- Treatment should encourage involvement with 12-Step or other
abstinence-based self-help groups during and after completion of
professional treatment.
- Treatment should be offered only in discrete settings under the supervision
of knowledgeable chemical dependency professionals.
