We Believe Chemical Dependency is a Treatable Disease

Chemical dependency or drug addiction is a primary, progressive and potentially terminal disease. It is a disease that adversely affects one’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual health. It is recognized when there is an increasing preoccupation with the use of alcohol or drugs to the total interruption and exclusion of normal life spheres.

Chemical dependency or drug addiction can be arrested through treatment and support services. Recovery from this disease results in a significant reduction of negative consequences.

Studies show that abstinence from alcohol and psychoactive drug use continues to be one of the most prudent and reasonable treatment goals for the person diagnosed as chemically dependent. Recovery means abstaining – no matter what.

Other treatment goals are often necessary and require innovative and creative strategies to instill the development of a healthy lifestyle.
